Solar Conversion Kit

Su-Kam's Solarcon is a smart device, based on patented technology, which can convert any ordinary inverter and battery setup into solar power system. It lets you use the free and green energy generated by solar panels to power all your electrical equipment. You make huge savings on electricity bill and get to charge the batteries even during powercut and of course help save the environment.

Product Features
  • Solarcon, which comes with solar panels, gets connected to your existing inverter and battery.
  • When sun rays fall on solar panels, they generate power (DC electricity) which reaches the batteries through Solarcon and batteries get charged.
  • Solarcon ensures that the right amount of charge reaches your battery because very high power that solar panels generate may damage the batteries if the charge is not regulated. Solarcon charges the batteries in different stages and gives a controlled amount of charge so that they get fully charged and are able to hold 100% charge.
  • It protects batteries from overcharging by intelligently disconnecting solar power when the batteries get fully charged. It also safeguards the solar panels by prohibiting the flow of current in reverse direction from batteries to solar panels during the night.
  • During the day when solar power is being generated and and fully charging the batteries, Solarcon intelligently disconnects the mains and powers your house via inverter using energy stored in batteries. You take almost nothing from the main power supply which means your electricity meter stops – more savings for you.
  • When batteries are drained Solarcon first tries to get charged through solar but in absence of solar, goes on to mains mode and gets you power from main grid supply.
  • In evenings or when sun is not available, Solarcon detects that and switches the mains on. The inverter charges the battery through main grid supply so you get non-stop electricity even during powercuts at night.
  • Solarcon lets you choose the battery reserve based on your needs. For example if you would like that the mains get on when battery reserve drops down on 20 percent then use the dip switch provided at the back to set this. You can keep up to 80% of battery reserve which can be very useful during power cut
  • The Solarcon works intelligently to decide when to charge your inverter from solar or the grid, depending upon the availability of the former. If solar is available, your inverter shall charge its batteries through solar power but will automatically start charging from mains in absence of sun.
  • Its LCD display keeps you informed about important things such as if mains is on or if solar is working, and how much money you are saving.
  • Anyone who has inverter and batteries in their house should get Solarcon because it turns their existing ordinary inverter into solar inverter.
  • Areas that face acute powercuts will find Solarcon very useful because they will be to charge batteries through solar as the grid supply in unreliable.
  • How is Solarcon different from regular solar charge controller?

Solar charge controllers ensure that DC electricity from solar panels safely reach batteries so that the batteries get adequate charge. They protect the batteries from overcharging by regulating the current and also prevent the reverse flow of current from batteries to solar panels during.

However, if a mere solar charge controller will not automatically switch off the mains and start powering your house through solar. You will have to manually disconnect the mains. That is problematic because it would be hard to judge when batteries are fully charged and the mains should be disconnected.

Solarcon, on the other hand, will intelligently keep switching from mains to inverter after assessing the charging state of batteries. It will always give priority to solar.

Electricity rates have risen by 100% over the course of just 10 years. On an average, one unit of electricity costs Rs.6-7 (for homes) and Rs.9 (for commercial establishments). Solarcon with 400 W solar panels makes about 1 unit of electricity which means approx. Rs. 7 every day which amounts to approx. Rs. 210 per month and over 2620 each year. If we calculate this over 25 years, as Solarcon will surely last that long, you make close to Rs. 68,000 from solar energy.

Solarcon charges the batteries using pure DC (Direct Current) power generated by solar panels which leads to faster and efficient charging of batteries. Batteries can only charge in DC but when they are charged through inverter, AC (Alternating Current) has to be converted in DC – this conversion causes losses and the inverter may unnecessarily consumes 1 unit of electricity daily. Solarcon takes care of this as it charges the batteries in DC and you may save upto Rs. 72000 (in 25 years).

Solarcon gives a multistage regulated charge to the batteries so that they don't get overcharged. This may increase the life of batteries by a minimum of 6 months so you save money here as well.

India is the third-largest producer of greenhouse gases and a major chunk comes from burning coal for generating electricity. If even 2/3rd of houses in India start using solar power then it will really help in saving the environment. Solarcon is a product that all existing inverter owners can easily buy and install. It doesn't require a huge area or expensive maintenance.
